What People Have to Say…
“I had the privilege of partnering with Maureen Coultas and Hope’s Promise for a number of years with the Fighting Children’s Cancer Foundation (FCCF). Maureen developed FCCF Cancer Days to support children with cancer and their families. The day included so many aspects of equine therapy to create an enjoyable and empowering day for patients, siblings, and parents. To state it quite simply, Maureen leads with love – her heart was felt in every aspect of instruction, planning, care, and event programming. She naturally forms and bridges connections, and she gives 150%+ in everything she does. Her sensitivity and empathy for those who are struggling and her expertise in equine therapy made for an exceptional experience for me and for those who benefited from these programs. I loved working with her and am excited to bear witness to her continued impact on children, families, and the community!”
“We love our visits with Hope’s Promise! Maureen and her team of horses always bring smiles to our residents’ faces as well as ours! We have a few residents and families who use to own horses or ride. They light up at the thought of a miniature horse visiting. Maureen is always so mindful of our residents and their needs. It also brings me joy with how much attention she tried to give each individual resident. The horses are always very patient when they visit. We especially love the little sneakers and occasional costumes they wear!”
“Hope’s Promise has made a big impact on my kids’ development. They are so happy and busy with the horses, they don’t realize how much they are learning!
Self confidence, focus, responsibility, physical coordination & dexterity (and joy!!)- are just some of the skills and gifts they get from their time with Miss Maureen, the minis, Chief, Justice and the volunteers.”
“A visit from the miniature horses of Hope’s Promise is always a thrill for our residents as well as our team members. The miniature horses are adorably cute and they are also amazing because they are so tiny! The residents love to touch the horses, and having the experience generates lots of social engagement between peers in the group setting. Everyone talks about the miniature horses’ tiny shoes for days after the visit. Maureen is wonderful with the seniors, always friendly, informative, and funny! Hope’s Promise is a delightful experience for any age.”
“I can’t thank you enough for the amazing opportunity you have brought to my students. Working with you and the horses is something we will never forget. You are a big part in my goal of guiding my students in positive directions. I love watching them bond with the horses, and the smiles on their faces are priceless. Each student has come so far and I can see a difference and the impact of your program. Thank you again for the time and commitment to us.”
“Hope’s Promise has provided engaging, therapeutic programs for my students. My students’ classifications range from language learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and Autism. The first group to visit Hope’s Promise a number of years ago still talk about the experience today! The program provides my students with a connection to nature via the horses, which in turn provides them with an inner experience as well. Students particularly LOVE to learn about the many quirks about miniature horses and come back to the classroom ready to WRITE about the experience. They enjoy learning to groom, care for, and lead the miniature horses with the guidance of “Miss Maureen” and her volunteers. When my students “lead” the miniature horses, they are unknowingly learning about themselves as they see themselves in a new role: the role of a leader.
In addition, my students RAVE about their experience riding the beautiful horses. The can not stop talking, drawing, and WRITING about overcoming their fears and learning what courage and bravery mean after riding a horse While they are learning to ride, they are also exposed to a plethora of vocabulary, as well as gaining knowledge of a different environment than they are used to or that they only read about in books. I do not know a better program for my students. I can not wait to take them back and let “Miss Maureen” guide them into a journey of sef-discovery while boosting their self-esteem.”
“It’s been a pleasure to bring my daughter Brooke to Hope’s Promise. She has come a long way from the first time. She has more confidence in the horse and in herself, Hope’s Promise is a very positive place. I enjoy just watching my daughter. Thank you.”
“I’ve learned a lot since I’ve started coming to Hope’s Promise. I was nervous at first but I think I’ve come a long way. It has a positive energy and it is an added bonus to riding horses.”
